MTI Café Volunteer
The MTI Café Volunteer supports the day-to-day operation of the café by providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving refreshments, maintaining a welcoming environment, and helping to create positive social interactions for Chelsea Pensioners, their families, visitors, staff, guests and fellow volunteers.
The MTI Café is a welcoming social space located alongside the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary (MTI) and provides an important service for Chelsea Pensioners, their families, staff and visitors. We are looking for volunteers with a friendly and approachable attitude who enjoy interacting with a wide range of people and helping to create a positive experience for everyone who uses the café.
You will be passionate about volunteering, enjoy working as part of a team, and be willing to support a variety of café activities. Volunteers may assist with serving refreshments, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and supporting cash handling and till operations under staff supervision.
Volunteers are an integral part of the café service and work under the supervision and guidance of café staff at all times. Additional volunteer support and supervision is available through the Volunteering Team.
We welcome volunteers who are available at various times between Monday and Sunday, between 08:30 and 17:00. Availability will be discussed informally and considered alongside service requirements and volunteer wellbeing considerations.
The Royal Hospital Chelsea does not specify the amount of time volunteers contribute. For this role, a typical volunteering session is around four hours, although availability will be discussed individually.
